Week 3 Blog Assignment
This week, we were tasked with creating an infographic utilizing our technology skills to the fullest in order to summarize Chapter 5 of How People Learn II: Learners, Contexts, and Cultures. Through this assignment, I was able to explore not only how prior knowledge affects the learning process as well as reasoning skills, but the list of learning strategies was enlightening. It was exciting for me as an educator to find that I used 3 of the 5 in my lesson today alone! Exploring the articles written by Mark Gura and Victor Rivero allowed me to make a list of creative tools that I am excited to incorporate into my lessons allowing my students to not only become Knowledge Constructors but also find their unlimited creativity while doing so.

That sounds like a fantastic project! I also found Chapter 5's insights on prior knowledge and learning strategies eye-opening. It's great to hear you’re already using those strategies in your lessons! I’m excited to incorporate some creative tools from Gura and Rivero into my teaching as well. Let’s share ideas!
ReplyDeleteHi Stephanie!
ReplyDeleteI love your infographic! It’s easy to follow, read and understand! The colors and little pictures add a lot as well! I also read chapter 5, I think based on your infographic you had a really deep understanding of the material. I think you ISTE standards fit perfectly with the chapter as well, awesome job!
Your infographic is informative and visually appealing. I feel the information was well summarized and the bullet points make reading easy. You did a great job with it.
ReplyDeleteHi Stephanie,
ReplyDeleteI love how your infographic is a great summary of all the points from your chapter and the other connections to Gura and Rivero, as well as the standards. It's a well organized and visually pleasing infographic, so good job on that.
I also thought of using Book Creator and it is so interesting to see how that tool can easily hit multiple standards.
Keep up the good work!
